Delivery of ball valves for H2 electrolyzer pilot plant in Austria
For a pilot project in hydrogen production, we successfully delivered ball valves for an electrolyzer pilot plant in Austria. They are used in an electrolysis hydrogen application with downstream compression.
Our customer manufactures the compressor system for this project. The ball valves supplied by us are an integral part of this system and are used directly in the compressor train. Accordingly, the requirements for material selection, pressure rating, and operational safety were high.
Designed for hydrogen medium
All supplied ball valves are specifically designed for hydrogen as the operating medium. All pressure-retaining components are made of stainless steel to ensure high resistance, material compatibility, and safety in hydrogen operation.
The ball valves feature ANSI flange connections and were manufactured in nominal sizes DN 15 and DN 25, suitable for the rather smaller nominal diameters of the pilot plant.

Safety and Documentation
To prevent unintentional operation, all ball valves are equipped with a lockable feature. This increases operational safety, especially in sensitive plant sections such as hydrogen compression.
Of course, complete technical documentation was provided. This includes, among other things, a manufacturer’s declaration of suitability for hydrogen, which transparently and verifiably confirms the suitability of the ball valves for their intended use.
