Safety: protection against embrittlement
Hydrogen embrittlement is a phenomenon in which hydrogen atoms penetrate the microstructure of a material and impair its mechanical properties. This leads to increased cracking and possible total failure of components. Particularly high pressures and temperatures intensify this phenomenon. Hydrogen embrittlement poses a major challenge for material selection in hydrogen technology. To keep your system safe, we use only materials that are resistant to hydrogen embrittlement (e.g. in accordance with ISO 11114).
Exclusive sealing system
The stem sealing of our ball valves for hydrogen applications features a high-quality sealing system that was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of hydrogen. Our ball valves remain technically leak-tight over the long term.
This is confirmed, for example, by certification in accordance with the requirements of TA Luft (testing to DIN EN ISO 15848-1).
Explosion protection
Hydrogen is known for its high flammability. To prevent the risk of ignition sources in our ball valves, they are equipped with a special anti-static device. This prevents electrostatic charging and thus the formation of sparks. With this safety measure, we ensure safe operation of our ball valves in critical hydrogen applications.
