Ball Valves for Petrochemicals
Ball valves are used in the petrochemical industry, particularly in tank systems for gasoline and aviation fuels, as reliable shut-off valves. Typical areas of application include tank farms, pipelines, pumping stations, and loading and maintenance systems where high operational safety requirements exist.

Series for petrochemical plants
Mainly flanged ball valves from the following series are used here:
• KFK-C – Cast steel flanged ball valves
• KFK-D – Cast stainless steel flanged ball valves
Technical design
The ball valves mentioned are available in nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 250, and in the cast steel version up to DN 300.
High tightness
The valves feature a two-piece design and are equipped with a soft-sealing system that ensures high tightness and defined switching behavior.
Modified versions are available for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Depending on the specific design and plant requirements, the ball valves can be supplied with TA Luft and/or Fire Safe certification.
TA Luft and Fire Safe certification
Our ball valves with TA Luft 2021 certification, based on ISO 15848-1, are suitable for use in plants requiring a permit where the minimization of fugitive emissions plays a central role. Tested stem seals ensure high tightness for volatile and flammable media.
For ball valves with Fire Safe certification according to API 607 / ISO 10497, the shut-off function is largely maintained even in the event of a fire due to the structural design. This minimizes uncontrolled media leakage and makes a significant contribution to plant and personal safety in tank farms and loading areas.
Manual or automatic actuation
The ball valves can be operated manually via a hand lever or, depending on the plant concept, by pneumatic or electric actuators. This allows for both manual operation and integration into automated and remotely monitored systems, including safety-related switching functions.
The design and manufacture of the ball valves are carried out in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU and the AD 2000 regulations.
