Von Scheven has developed a ball valve combination for a railway project in Norway. The intelligent combination consists of one 3/2-way and one 2/2-way ball valve, which are operated together with a safety locking handle.

The safety locking handle, patented at the time, withstands the daily vibrations of railway operations. This ensures that “open” and “closed” positions are not unintentionally altered by vibrations. The handle is also optionally available in a lockable version.

In addition to the daily challenges of railway operations, the ball valve combination was adapted to the environmental conditions. The ball valves are therefore manufactured from high-quality stainless steel. Sealing materials and other components were selected according to the required temperature resistance of -40°C. Furthermore, the ball valve combinations are additionally equipped with limit switches, allowing the respective switching position to be monitored at any time via remote maintenance.

The project included various ball valve designs in different nominal diameters and lot sizes. The modular principle enabled von Scheven to provide flexible and on-schedule delivery.
