Metal-seated ball valves
If our customers had asked us about the sealing material of our valves in our founding year of 1937, this question would have been quickly answered. Our first ball valves were equipped with relatively soft Perbunan seals. Later, POM, PTFE and other soft-sealing materials were added. Today, after more than 80 years of company history, the question of the sealing system can no longer be answered so easily with the materials mentioned. Market requirements are changing, and our ball valves naturally adapt to new challenges.
Customer requirements increasingly involve a combination of abrasive media, very high temperatures and considerable pressure differentials. In such cases, ball valves with soft-sealing systems are no longer sufficient. Instead, we recommend the use of metal-seated ball valves.
A fundamental requirement is a long service life for the ball valves. Our valves must therefore not only be corrosion-resistant, but also wear-resistant. The heart of our ball valve is the ball in interaction with the sealing shells. Structurally, we generally use a spring-loaded sealing system. Despite the hard surfaces, we achieve gas-tightness.
The applications are diverse. Depending on requirements, we use special coatings for the balls and sealing shells. We often work closely with a company specializing in such coating systems. Two family businesses combine their expertise to meet individual customer requirements. Engineers and technicians from both sides can adapt the design as needed. Short communication channels enable rapid quotation. Individual production is just as possible as the delivery of larger series.
